Chic Summer Swimwear

The older I get, the less I want to swim in public. Remember the good old days when hopping in the pool was about the sheer joy of splashing around with your friends? You couldn’t wait to rip off your cover up (if you even brought one) and plunge into a weightless, magical underwater world! Long games of “Sharks and Minnows” rolled into afternoons of back flip contests. And even as time passed into the teen years, pool days still offered up some value. The chance to exhibit newly minted curves in a more “grown up” suit or brag about your killer tan while crushing on someone in the deep end. But, this is the phase in life where pool gatherings create, not wonder, but anxiety. The kids dictate when and where we jump in, often opting for the biohazardous kiddie pool or aggressive water rocket shooting splash pad area. And on top of all the physical exertion and gag reflexes this requires, there’s also the looming concern that your aging body is on display for all to see. Yes, there are cover ups, but with kids in tow they don’t stay on long! You’re pulled into the trenches, splashing about and chasing the little ones from one side of the pool to the next. A proper adult swimsuit is the only way to go. This is no time for flimsy fabrics or over complicated designs. Finding a suit that’s high-performing but not dowdy is no easy feat! Let’s take some of our pool power back and find a cute (but high-functioning) swimsuit to bring just a little bit of fun back to pool time!
