Addison Rae has come under fire this week for posing in a Christianity-themed bikini and Beyoncé is being brought into the argument too.

The now-deleted swimsuit pic is part of an Adidas collaboration with fashion company Praying who sell simple clothes, accessories swimwear with slogans written on them.

The social media star has been blasted for the raunchy post, which she shared on August 2nd, due to its association with religion.

Now, TikTok users are slamming Beyonce’s new song Church Girl for the same reason and both of them are being accused of ‘blasphemy’.

On Tuesday, Addison Rae shared a photo of herself wearing Praying’s Holy Trinity bikini which has rocked the internet.

The white swimsuit retails for $100 and says the words ‘Father’, ‘Son’ and ‘Holy Spirit’ on each cup and the string bikini bottoms. 

This is the Holy Trinity, which is a Christian doctrine that defines one God existing in three divine persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

In the raunchy shot, which only captures Addison’s exposed top half, the influencer posed in the bikini and the Adidas and Praying logos are written on top. 

However, the Adidas and Addison Rae collaboration hasn’t gone down well with fans who have blasted its offensive religious connotations. 

One person wrote on Twitter: “Why do you gotta disrespect Christianity like that? You don’t disrespect any other religion, just Christianity? And why do you have to create it, @adidas?”

“What the heck is this??? So flipping disrespectful. I guarantee that u wouldn’t do that to any other religion. The things people do for money is disgusting,” tweeted another.

Following the Addison Rae backlash, Beyoncé’s track Church Girl, which comes from her new album Renaissance, is being slammed by too.

In a TikTok video which has gone viral and had over 250,000 views, one girl said: “Me after seeing the Addison Rae bikini and the lyrics to Beyonce’s new song.”

TikTok users are linking the two because the lyrics to the track are pretty explicit, which some people think is disrespectful.

The track is about religious girls going to parties, “acting loose,” being promiscuous, being “naughty,” “acting raunchy” and dancing suggestively.

Whilst some people love the song, others think it could be a little disrespectful, with one person writing: “Omg the church girl song on Beyoncé album is so disrespectful omggg what happened. I know I ain’t religious but wow.”

“I’m also hearing about Beyoncé’s new album about being a church girl going out with her single friends and twerking! Like What!?” another said before calling her “blasphemous”.

In the comments of the viral video, TikTok users are blasting the two women for blasphemy.

One person wrote: “Shocked for Addison Rae and for Beyoncé I don’t want anything to do with her.”

“What is happening to the world,” said another whilst a third added: “I was flabbergasted.”

“As upsetting as it is it’s normalised to disrespect us now so all we can really do is voice our opinions and pray,” commented another.

However, others think that people are missing the point with the Beyoncé track which wasn’t intended to be disrespectful.

The song is about girls who break away from the constraints of how a ‘church girl’ should behave and echoes empowerment.
